About Milwaukee Mentors
Milwaukee Mentors is a consortium of nine youth-serving programs working to promote quality youth mentoring and to increase the number of adult mentors for Milwaukee youth. The consortium was established in 1996 with the support of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and is currently managed by the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Mentors does not match mentors with students, but rather matches mentors with participating mentoring programs that meet their interests. Milwaukee Mentors supports mentors and mentoring programs in a variety of ways, such as: conducting mentor workshops and trainings, organizing mentor-mentee outings, conducting joint mentor recruitment initiatives, establishing quality standards for participating programs, and overseeing peer-reviews of participating programs.
Milwaukee Mentors is made possible by generous support from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, US Bank, and The Business Journal.
